Are You Into Depression?
Depression is usually triggered off by something that you are unhappy about. However, due to any number of reasons you might fail to identify it at that time, and then it will just worsen. Soon enough, you could find yourself angry and unhappy with everything else. Not a pleasant feeling. Don’t allow such depression to happen to you all the time. Work hard at preventing or controlling the situation.
I am yet to find a suicide case that was not as a result of some kind of depression or the other. Save for fear of something else happening to them, people who kill themselves do so because they can’t find another way through their situation. This is the very evidence of classic depression. But the truth remains that there is hardly any situation that one can’t find a solution out of. So, never thing it’s too late for you, no matter how depressed you are.
Depression is common enough as a regular mood that hits once it a while. Some call it the blues, but not when it is the serious type. That is the type of depression that becomes bipolar or manic depression; that is the type of depression that people get admitted into hospital for. Beating them and depression together calls for a great deal of professional intervention. Don’t handle all cases of depression yourself. You might need professional help to steer you away from such depressions. Try to cheer up. Have a sweet celebration. It may help.
Depression has a way of growing on you. In truth, many of the characteristics you develop when you are grown have actually been with you since you were young and the first symptoms of the condition ever came upon you. But you did not notice because the disease is like that. And all those self-defeating ways of looking at the world become such a part of your life that you are never again able to shale them off.
Blaming themselves is something you will find a depressed person doing a lot of the time. Whatever the misfortune, they tend to take the blame upon their own shoulders. Little wonder they are so prone to commit suicide, or at least attempt it. Even if you must blame yourself, it should be to learn the valuable lessons inherent when one makes mistakes. It’s not to constantly beat yourself into the ground. That’s counterproductive.
